Betty I Johannsen of Ambler passed away on September 27, 2018 at Brittany Pointe Estates at the age of 98. She was born in St Johns, PA on June 21, 1920 daughter of Reuben Benninger and Ellen Adams and was wife of Walter C Johannsen for 59 years.
Betty attended Hazelton High School and was a house wife. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Ambler and also the Order of the Eastern Star.
She is survived by her children John C (Beverlee) of Hatfield PA, and Barbara Heurich (Douglas) of Glenview, Ill and she was preceded by George W. (Joann) of Souderton, PA. She is survived by her sister Jean Stecker of St Johns and was preceded by her sister Marian Knelly of Sugarloaf PA. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
A funeral service officiated by Ryan Balsan will be held on Friday October 5, 2018 at 3pm at Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home, 145 Tennis Ave, Ambler. Family and friends may call after 2pm at the funeral home.
Memorials may be sent to First Presbyterian Church of Ambler, 4 S Ridge Ave, Ambler PA in her name.
